Hiking around Lake Chambon
(learn more)

A 3.5 km waymarked trail loops around the lake and is accessible on foot, with a stroller or by bike. This family-friendly walk lets you observe local wildlife and flora while offering beautiful views of the surrounding volcanoes. Wooden boardwalks cross the wetlands, creating unique viewpoints along the way.
Along the route, educational panels provide information about the animal and plant species you may encounter: dragonflies, herons, aquatic plants, and even beaver traces for the most observant. This well-maintained path suits all ages and all paces—whether you’re a photographer, a casual walker or simply curious about nature.
Rest areas are spaced regularly along the trail, making it easy to pause in the shade or enjoy a picnic with a view. In places, panoramic binoculars or orientation tables enrich the discovery of the site. In the morning or late in the day, soft light enhances the reflections on the water and reveals the majestic silhouette of the volcanoes in the background, making the experience even more memorable.
